Not sure how long this will last but while I was out playing tennis earlier tonight, my third blog post for Download Squad has just made it onto Digg's front page!
This definitely makes me forget about losing my tennis game tonight! :-D
More hours of the day, or decrease the number of hours of sleep I need will be very welcomed.
My first post for Download Squad is now online!
I am very flattered by Victor who invited me to blog for the Download Squad. Thanks Victor!
(Not bad for someone whom English is second language and doesn't have an English degree...)
While lying in bed this morning (actually more like late morning/noon) the blog post idea that escape me last week suddenly popped into my head! So now it is safely jotted down in my Mac, waiting to be fully flushed out.
As I was walking to work this morning, listening to a podcast as usual on my iPod Shuffle, an idea popped into my head which would make a great post. But by the time I walked into the office, I had already forgotten it! It pisses me off so much! Don't you just hate it when that happens?
There are many discussions on the web about which one is better, and why one is more popular with a certain group of users than the other. Here is what I think why WordPress is more popular among the causal blogger than MT.
Note #1: I think MovableType is, in general, a better blogging system (e.g. more scalable, more flexible architecture, etc.) but oftentimes technical merits do not count for much when causal users evaluate software.
Note #2: I am comfortable in unix shell so that's not where I burnt my time on.
Fact: I've spent around 4 hours trying and failed to install the infrastructure (CGI and Perl's DBI and DBI::mysql or DBI::sqlite) on OS X to get MovableType to run.
Fact: I only need to spend around 30 minutes to get WordPress to run.
What's something that you're really proud of, which most people in your life don't know about?
